Guiyang Forest Park

Guiyang Forest Park is currently the oldest and largest municipal forest park in the nation. Built in 1960, it is located 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) southeast of the Guiyang city center.

Covering an area of 3,900 hectares (9,637 acres), the park has many tourist resources. There are various forest zones, such as those dedicated to the plants of Catalpa, Camphor Trees, Teak, Pine, and Alamo, are all well preserved. The park is densely wooded, and so offers an environment full of pure and fresh air. Lofty hills, flourishing woods and gentle breezes make it an ideal summer resort.

Passing the front gate of the Forest Park is an ancient plank road of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Stone carvings on the cliffs left there add a historic flavor to the Forest Park.
