100 Million Investment Projects of EU SMEs Business Matchmaking & Cooperation Incubation Event Settled in Chengdu

Recently, the 2007 EU-Chengdu SMEs Business Matchmaking & Cooperation Incubation Event, which was jointly sponsored by Sichuan People’s Government and EU Commission, undertaken by Sichuan Department of Commerce, assisted by Chengdu Investment Promotion Commission and Chengdu Administration Commission of high-tech zone, and implemented by Chengdu innovation center of high-tech zone as well as EU project incubation center (Chengdu), was held in Chengdu.

This event served as a bridge and platform connecting China (Chengdu) and EU, and promoted economic and trade cooperation, technical exchange and capital matchmaking between China and Europe. This event has drawn considerable concern from EU Embassy in China, commercial association, multinational company and domestic and overseas investment & financial companies. Leaders of chamber of commerce from dozens of EU member countries such as Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands and Spain, 147 representatives of European enterprises, and over 300 Chinese enterprises attended this meeting and held discussions on such four areas as information technology, machinery manufacturing, construction and design, and environmental protection.

According to the statistics, there were almost one hundred Chinese enterprises signed cooperation agreement and letter of intent with European enterprises during the event. More than 30 EU enterprises will settle their projects in Chengdu. The total project investment achieved above EUR100m.
