The SBus-SCI adapter card is a high performance dedicated clustering solution for compute intensive and communication intensive applications. The SBus-2B card is a high performance solution for clustering of SPARC systems. Applications include clusters of systems for compute processing and high availability database operations. The SBus-2B card uses fast point-to-point links and reliable protocols to overcome limitations of traditional network solutions. With the use of shared memory, applications can bypass time consuming operating systems calls when sending small messages between nodes. The adapter also supports fast DMA transfers from user memory to user memory. Systems within a cluster can be connected in a ring or by use of a switch.
