It lives quietly buried in the mud of the water’s bottom. Extractors came and extirpated it, shook it in a metallic sifter, then put it in a newsprint in fresh air.

Few bugs would resist to such a treatment! In fact, mud worms are preserving themselves very well, provided that you respect some simple rules:

Never put them into a too cold fridge (perfect temperature between 8 and 9°C).

Drop systematically dead worms.

Keep them in a environment always moist, for example if you put them in a newsprint, it mustn’t be dry.

Mud worms are available to your fishing goods retailer. You can find them by yourself but it’s easier said than done.

Every fish love this bait, even the biggest, such as the carp. Like maggots, mud worms have to be very stirring and have a pretty red colour. The mud worm fears the heat.

You must preserve them into moss or moist peat, keep them in a cool place, out of the least sunbeam.
