86% copper oxide needles, supplied in 25kg pails for packing into gelatine capsules. Used for the prevention and treatment of copper deficiency in cattle, calves, sheep, goats, deer and camelids.
Copper is required for optimal growth and development. Supplementation of deficient stock can result in:
- Improved weight gain rates
- Higher milk yields in dairy cattle
- Enhanced reproduction
- Better quality and higher quantities of wool from sheep
- Improved resistance to intestinal parasites (H. contortus)
The copper oxide filled gelatine capsule dissolves in the rumen releasing the copper oxide needles that lodge in the folds of the reticulum and abomasum. The copper oxide needles then slowly dissolve to release copper that is absorbed by the animal from the intestinal tract. The absorbed copper is stored in the liver and released gradually over time into the circulation.
